The History of Cake Day
Cake Day was conceived in 1998 as a holiday centered around good food and good friends when I was a sophomore in high school. We have now celebrated over a decade of Cake Days!
Cake Day has been celebrated in Pennsylvania, Mexico, Connecticut, Boston, St. Louis, New York, Wisconsin, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Washington DC, Santa Fe, Edinburgh, Delaware and places in between.
Cake Day is about discovery and spreading the joy that cake brings, and is never about guilt. If you don't have the time or resources to find a new recipe and bake a cake, no worries. Just take an hour on May 2nd to sit down wherever you are and enjoy dessert with your friends, and know that many others are doing the same.
I raise a fork to you, my friends!
